Hello everyone. I dont if this is a silly question. I have Big ambitions to be part of Bus preservation, hopefully within Bromley Bus preservation Group, (BBPG). I want to one day preservation one of Arriva's Enviro300 Buses that run in the Hertfordshire area. I'll get straight to the point. U know how most Buses outside has one door. Is it Possible to add exit doors on a existing single door bus or that makes no no sense ð€ Itâs possible depending on the bus and also depending on the buses structural integrity around the area being fitted but itâs ridiculously expensive. ah okay I didn't know that was even possible thank you ð. Roughly how much is it to Convert a single door bus into a 2 door bus?

Roughly how much is it to Convert a single door bus into a 2 door bus? Why not just buy a two door bus?

Roughly how much is it to Convert a single door bus into a 2 door bus? In the nicest way possible, why? I don't think you realise how much bus preservation costs, and dual dooring a bus (especially if it was originally single door, so won't have any bulkheads or cabling left) will likely cost something in the 5 digit range. I have 2 buses, and even that is already getting expensive, with things like insurance, tax, MOT, parts and labour to worry about, and that does not even include things like a repaint or retrimming seats into original moquette (been told around 2k to get a Dart painted at a good quality paintshop)

Hi Guys, Sorry I keep coming up with more questions. U know when it comes to Running days, what is the limited amount of time are they allowed to operate?

Roughly how much is it to Convert a single door bus into a 2 door bus? You would be looking at around £10-15k to do that. You would need doors, rams, to weld in extra steel and wiring and control buttons and units. Not worth it if it is a preservation vehicle.

Hi Guys, Sorry I keep coming up with more questions. U know when it comes to Running days, what is the limited amount of time are they allowed to operate? Depends on the licensing, if passengers are being carried etc. If it was just driving the bus up and down with no one on board, or less than 8 people on board as in not a hire & reward service; unlimited. If it were like a normal bus service, the driver can do 5 hours and 30 minutes, then would need a minimum of 40 minutes break.

Yes to be fair it isn't the worst price, but it's still something that I'd rather save up some money for, so that I still have decent money after respray

No point spending 4k on a paint job if it's going to fail it's next MOT or blow up before then.

There's nothing stopping you holding a 24/7 running day if you have the finance and the drivers. Not sure how many people would turn up overnight though!

I have the other VLA (57) that's in the yard and my Dart is mechanically fine at the moment. Currently getting the compressor on the VLA sorted so it's sound mechanically

My Dart is in a great condition inside and mechanically but just a shame about the current livery!! Decisions need to be taken about it's long term future before I would even consider painting it.
