A small gripe I know, but I do wish Merseyside hadn’t chosen a yellow livery as well as Manchester. When there are so many colours to pick, why have two yellow counties one next to the other? Probably partly because yellow was already being used for both Metrolink trams and Merseyrail.

As said above, green might have been better for Merseyside.

Would have been nice if they used a maroon and cream or green and cream based livery as a nod to the Merseybus era.

Green and cream has a longer term tradition having been the Merseyside PTE colour scheme. Maroon and cream (or officially cream and crimson) was decided by Merseybus post-deregulation.

When my grandparents lived in Southport in the late 80’s/early 90’s all the Atlanteans (except the open toppers, in their red & cream), Nationals and the weird looking Bristol things (that looked like they had the rear hacked off them as there was virtually no rear overhang) had all been painted into the Crimson livery, but you still saw bits of publicity with buses in the green livery. They actually lived on Cobden Road and you could see the beautiful Southport garage from their garden, when alighting from the 7 bus as it was then, you would alight on the garage forecourt, always a treat to see what was lurking inside when the garage doors were open.

In other words this BRT system will proceed anyway, barring unforeseen glitches or .... cough .... broken pledges .... cough.

I was very impressed reading his transport manifesto: You must be as delusional as most of the sheep that follow him. Most of what he says is waffle. - Hydrogen buses which have mostly not seen a day in service because they can't source the hydrogen.
- Bus stops directly outside Liverpool Lime Street aren't being served as the council refuses to let any buses stop there.
- Hanover Street Bus Gate is often blocked due to his beloved Wolvo taxi drivers treating the place like a free for all, parking where they want, doing u-turns in the middle of the street holding all of the buses up etc etc. Adding to that, it wasn't until a few years ago that 30+ buses per hour were forced to give way for cars entering/exiting the car park! How much more anti bus can you get when buses are forced to give way to a flipping car park!
- Lime Street Gyratory used to have frequent buses passing infront of the station, that all got cut in favour of forcing buses to go where Labour wanted them to go, not where passengers want to go. Then they put a single lane bus lane which was heavily delayed in opening for no reason at all, now only the 7 uses the bus lane and it has to sit at traffic lights to get from one end of the 60 metre bus lane to the other (bearing in mind how many traffic lights are linked up here as well, this can cause considerable delay!
- Thanks to pro car policies within LABOUR RAN Liverpool City Council, the majority of buses no longer continue into the city, they terminate at Queens Square and buses go into the 'BusHub' which no one wanted and is poorly designed so buses can get stuck trying to get out as it's 3 rows all 'in line' so if the bus at the front is due out after the bus behind, the bus behind is just indefinitely delayed. When it became obvious that the BusHub didn't have the space for all of the services, some buses got told to layover further into the city but were told categorically that they could not extend the routes to drop people off in the city, the bus must run empty from Queens Square, to the layover point in the city, and then empty back.
- Bus stops on Victoria Street got ripped up so that they could put a taxi rank in.
- Around 2018 due to construction, a bus lane sliproad on Irvine Street was removed. When that construction was complete around 2022, they reopened the slip road as a normal traffic lane and are now undertaking a consultation on whether this slip road should become bus only because its a 'pinch point'. - Well, flipping obviously, that is why the bus lanes was there in the first place!
This is all before I talk about the amount of money being wasted by Merseytravel on routes which are carrying fresh air, all because it makes them look good. The Christmas Day network hasn't changed in absolutely years and that is despite some routes carrying less than 1 person per trip but apparently this bus is 'an essential service'. Funny that, the bus goes down roads which don't have any service the other 364 days of the year so it can't be that essential! Steve Rotherham and Labour in Merseyside in general are a shambles. Pro car and the little bits that they do spend on buses, they waste or they make such colossal mess ups and so they have to spend a lot of money putting it all right again. They talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Corrupt and liars.
