Are there any routes which have interesting, funny or quirky bus stop names along their routing? Here are ones that came to mind:
- Applegarth (64, 130, 664) - Bird In Bush Road (63, 78, 363, 381, N63, N381) - Bird In Hand (96, 428) - Copers Cope Road (54, 354) - Friendly Street (47, 225) - Gooshays Drive (496, 608) - Ha Ha Road (122, 386) - Ha Ha Road / Grand Depot Road (161, 178, 386, 469) - Halstead / the Cock (R5, R10) - Horse Leaze (262, 376, 678, N551) - Little Britain (4, 8, 25, 56, 76, 100, 133, N8, N25, N242, N551) - Naafi Messing Store (122, 161, 178, 244, 469) - Sorrel Bank (433) - Sunnybank (75, 157, 197) - Susan Wood (162, 269, R7)
Obviously some of them derive from the road that they're located on where as others may be named after a sort of attraction or building.

A trawl through my well-thumbed ‘London Bus Rides’ notebook unearthed the following bus stops that I’ve used in my travels around London together with the route I was travelling on. I’m glad Mokujin started the thread as it motivated me to search out some of the background history for the bus stop names. BADRIC COURT / 44 / Battersea / Battersea is mentioned in Anglo-Saxon times as Badrices ieg = Badric's Island. BREAD STREET / 25 / City of London / Bread Street is one of the 26 wards of the City of London the name deriving from its principal street and the city's bread market (named Bredstrate to at least 1180) CYPRUS STATION / 376 / near Gallions Reach / Cyprus station is named after the nearby Victorian estate of Cyprus, itself named after the British colonisation of that Mediterranean island. FAIREY CORNER / E6 / Hayes / Until its demise in 1960 Fairey Aviation Company had an aircraft factory in nearby North Hyde Road JACK STRAW’S CASTLE / WHITESTONE POND / 210 / Hampstead / Grade II listed building on North End Way. The site is named after the rebel leader Jack Straw, who led the Peasants' Revolt in 1381 and who is said to have taken refuge on the site until he was caught and executed. A pub of the same name existed from the 18th Century to 2002 when the building was converted to luxury apartments. NUTMEG LANE / 115 / Poplar / Nutmeg Lane, Sorrel Lane, Saffron Avenue, Coriander Avenue, Rosemary Drive, Oregano Drive, Clove Crescent, E14. Located close to each other near East India Dock, this fragrant network of streets were named after herbs and spices that were once stored in large warehouses in the area. ST BERNARD’S GATEHOUSE / WINDMILL PARK / 92 / Hanwell / The gatehouse to St Bernard's Hospital, also known as Hanwell Insane Asylum and the Hanwell Pauper and Lunatic Asylum opened in 1831 / In Windmill Park there was once a windmill near to the series of canal locks that Brunel built. Plus, some bus stops that I’ve not been unable to unearth reasons behind the name… BESTYLE CIRCUS / 34 / New Southgate BLACKBIRD CROSS / 83 / Kingsbury FRIENDLY STREET / 225 / Deptford MOUNT EPHRAIM ROAD / P13 / Streatham

Chargeable Lane in Plaistow - apparently it led to a field called Chargeables, whose owner made a contribution towards the maintenance of Chargeable Wall at Lea Mouth. Star Lane and New Barn Street are also named after local farms, whilst Balaam Street is named after the Balun family who lived in the area in the Middle Ages.

Some people would like a stop on the 323 named Bow Locks, but I don't think it will happen.
