Surely this is the kind of change where if they went ahead and it appeared in the upcoming changes page no one would move a muscle.

Makes sense when considering future developments though in the short term only the golf course will benefit!

Considering the pending Morden Wharf redevelopment, this makes complete sense. If I’m right it was mentioned that once the construction was complete that a bus route would be running through the site, I’d assume it’s the 188, albeit I have a feeling a review involving the Peninsula, Charlton, Greenwich and surrounding areas north of the river will launch not too far after the tunnel opens.
The only opposition I can really see is Deptford losing its link to St Mary’s, as half of it comes under Greenwich.

The 108 runs down there well diversion currently so if they complain it will be a waste of time. At the end of they day they chose to live near a tunnel.

According to TfL:
'Passengers using the 188 for access to the St Mary Magdalene School sites could use alternative bus routes 129 and 488'!!

The way they have made the street look like it is unworthy of a bus route. In addition “Instead of heading along Millennium Way past the 1,600-student capacity St Mary Magdalene school, it would instead turn off at Blackwall Lane and head down Tunnel Avenue.” Is too funny.

Those pictures are great, nice sarcastic article I get it why they want to divert the 188 to serve those upcoming houses (and something does need to be sent there) but the school link being broken is a critical one. That bit of road is very difficult to cross as a pedestrian - I am thinking of November / December in the evening and not in June at 30 degrees Maybe the 422 is a better one? Not sure of the exact flows but I would have thought the 188 gets more school students but could be wrong Or just leave it to the 108

TfL need to provide school routes for St Mary's.
Travelling on the 486 from North Greenwich in the afternoon is a nightmare.

TfL need to provide school routes for St Mary's. Travelling on the 486 from North Greenwich in the afternoon is a nightmare. Looking at this on map the 422 passes by however using John Harrison Way. What should be done is School buses introduced to replace the lost links. Overall the entire area starting from Blackwall Lane has a very high demand for bus usage. Plenty of buses coming into North Greenwich from the East but very few from the West. If a Route ran from for example Deptford Church Street to Charlton Station via North Greenwich there would be some very high demand.

A while ago, I was toying with diverting the 422 onto Tunnel Avenue, and I think that would be a good way to reduce congestion on that route. However, it can also mean that the 188 better serves East Greenwich and has a section of route to itself that's longer than Tanner Street. Edit: I just looked at the map and it's talking about the northern section, not the southern section. Oh well, it's still a good idea...
