Looks like Londonist have found a new "mini Countdown" display attached to a normal bus stop flag. londonist.com/london/transport/unusual-bus-stopCould work on lower frequency routes where you don't need lots of lines of display and where wait times info is important. Not so sure about busier stops with mutiple routes.

Interesting, the font makes it look very European if that makes any sense. I wonder if it's easy to view when there is a lot of sunshine or if there is any background lighting to fix that.

Looks like TfL benefited from Maplin's collapse looks like the electronic bric a brac that was popular in their stores along with drones and mixing decks for DJ's I feel sorry for the Incident Response teams who have to go round fitting CR2032 watch batteries in every bus stop flag now I can see it helping on bus stops with no Countdown displays, but want to know if it is backlit for night time or illegible in bright sunlight. Hopefully TfL's electronics innovation phase will be more popular than the branding phase was?

There was a lingering doubt in my mind as to whether these were really brand new. I thought one had been trialled somewhere else. Probably just Londonist being out of date.

The current issue of 'Buses' mag quotes another location too: I read it last night, and don't have the mag to hand, but I think it was Lower Sloane St.

Shame these were only trialled at a few stops in central, north-west and south-east London, and most of them are beyond repair by now (July 2021), just 3 years after they were installed!

Saw them in Northwood and Harlington, the former a few years back and is no longer installed, whilst the latter had been installed but was switched off when I last looked
