Stagecoach West/Oxfordshire is replacing the long-standing 853 route between Oxford and Cheltenham, which for many years was operated by the independent Swanbrook Coaches. From Sunday 28th August route S2 will be amended to run hourly between Oxford, Witney and Curbridge, and will be extended on to Cheltenham every two hours via Burford and Northleach. On Sundays to return journeys will operate over the full route, with a morning positioning journey from Witney to Oxford and a late afternoon return. There are also changes to the S1, which will serve more of Carterton as the S2 will no longer serve the town, and the 233 is being rerouted via Brize Norton. www.stagecoachbus.com/service-updates/serviceupdatesarticle?SituationId=ID-09/08/2022-11:14:51:821

Stagecoach is changing some of its Oxford services from Sunday 5th March.
Route 7 between Oxford and Woodstock will be renumbered S7 from this date and will be extended to Witney, replacing part of route 233. The S7 will start from Oxford Railway Station and will serve the same stops in Oxford City Centre as route S3 (Park End Street, George Street and Magdalen Street). At Oxford Parkway buses will no longer operate into the Station but will serve the stops on the main Banbury Road.
Route 233 will continue to operate between Witney and Burford, to a revised timetable. Journeys which omit Carterton will be numbered 234.
Routes 2/2A (Kidlington) will have new timetables and will be rerouted at Oxford Parkway to serve the Station entrance.
Route S3 will have a revised timetable to coordinate with route S7.
Route S5 will have a revised timetable and will be rerouted in Glory Farm (Banbury) to serve more of the estate.

Staff from Stagecoach West (Oxford and Gloucester) have travelled to Falkirk to see the first of their order for 55 ADL Envoro400 EV coming off the production line. The first example (marked body number N453/1) is 90% complete and is due to be delivered to Oxford in January for driver training and staff familiarisation. The vehicles will feature push-button handbrakes, electronic display wing mirrors and a digital dashboard. The staff, which included two drivers, an engineer and a cleaner, travelled to Falkirk and back on Oxford Tube coach 50426. An ADL Enviro400 EV was also inspected at Oxford's Horspath Depot from 11th to 18th December, although this was a demonstrator vehicle and does not form part of the Stagecoach West order. The vehicle was transferred to and from Oxford on trade plates and was not displaying a registration. Source: www.oxford-chiltern-bus-page.co.uk (weekly briefing 14th December 2023)

Delivery of the first ADL Enviro400 EVs has been delayed due to the strike action at Falkirk - in the end, ADL sent a demonstrator for the Oxford electric buses official launch in January. However 80001 and 80002 have now been registered SK73 CZE and SK73 CZF respectively and are due imminently in Oxford for driver and engineering staff training. Stagecoach expects the introduction of electric vehicles on Oxford City services will commence from early May. Source: www.oxford-chiltern-bus-page.co.uk/ (weekly briefing 29th February 2024)

View Attachmentust been sent this, first of the 55 new E400EVs has arrived at Stagecoach Oxford Have to say, that looks fantastic. I wasn't really a fan of the new ADL E400EV initially, but that livery sits on it really well. Livery looks much better than the current national Stagecoach one.

View Attachmentust been sent this, first of the 55 new E400EVs has arrived at Stagecoach Oxford Looks like 80002 is 24-reg after all (SK24 XRC). It was reported as a 73-reg. Interesting that Stagecoach have gone for a very similar livery to Oxford City for its Oxford electrics.

The livery choice is designed to provide a more consistent image for services within the Oxford Smartzone. COMS is also ditching its separate park & Ride scheme although the Brookes Bus vehicles will retain a discrete identity.

But that logic is surely flawed unless both firms rid their own ops tickets and make it so that all tickets are accepted by both firms within Oxford. This is just a recipe for disaster otherwise. Drivers will be telling passengers to look at the legal lettering to know if their ticket is valid or not!
