I can hear the opposition from the NIMBYS now 😂😂 though I think it would be a good idea I can't see it going ahead .

What’s the opposite of a NIMBY? Even if it just ran Grays-Ebbsfleet, I’d take it (although I agree, it’s very unlikely).

I would unfortunately envisage an awful lot of opposition to it on the Northfleet - Gravesend corridor at least, although I agree it’s a great idea.

I’d love for this to happen, it’s much needed to connect Dartford and Gravesend with Thurrock. It’ll never happen though, not in my lifetime. I’d bet my whole bank balance on it.

Now that the London Resort is pretty much dead in the water, I also can’t see that tramlink happening any time soon. It’s a shame as this type of scheme is exactly what we need to unlock economic opportunities in regions outside of London.

It’s pretty insane that Ensign Buses X80 is the only way of getting from one side to the other if you haven’t got a car.

Tilbury Ferry 😉 but still could be better connected , realistically from Woolwich East bound there are only the X80 and the ferry could be way better connected.

It’s a shame infrastructure wasn’t built alongside the HS1 line under the Thames for a slow train or tram system with a link straight into Lakeside . This could have then taken over the C2C line up to Upminster giving North Kent a link with the tube. Bridges across that part of the river need to be so high so big ships can pass under , I think tunnels are the only realistic approach.
