TfL wasted money paying for the 521 electrics to have a refurbishment and now if they are used elsewhere they will need more work to be upseated. Guess routes will run until the end of contracts for example the D7 contract ends in September 2023. Those Electrics would be great for Route 227 108 too.

So the list pretty much confirms where the 248 buses are coming from. The cuts are bad but not as extensive as I thought they would be! The famous 414 and 94 never made the list. Yes I think the 31 drew the short straw on the Holland Park Avenue stretch. Which makes no flipping sense because the 31 has far more unique links than the other routes. Given the 31 runs on its own for the entire eastern half and is rammed both directions daily I'm bemused as to how TFL have identified this route as suitable for the scrap. It seems they've mixed some routes that genuinely have lost a significant chunk of demand in recent years like the 12 with some routes they just want to do away with to save some extra cash with no correlation to changing travel patterns.

Given we have seen the plans for replacing the 31 yet let's hold fire on those sorts of comments.

Will be interesting what other surprises will occur as in replacements for some of these routes. The 45 I can see no replacement for it at all.

In my opinion the only routes that might need to be reconsidered are the 12 and 78. The 4 does have a lot of freehold sections it will be interesting to see how these are replaced, if at all. A 4 bph SD route would do good to cover the section between Archway and Finsbury Park.
Everything else seems sensible to cut.

They’ll just expect passengers to use the 57 137 or 417 to Streatham Hill and interchange... 59 to Clapham Park would also make the route more expensive to run because there are no driver facilities there.

It has to go to consultation and be agreed by unions so still a (slim) chance it won't happen What are the unions going to do, there is not exactly a glut of staff so unlikely to be any compulsory redundancies I suppose they could go on strike, but that might just prove people can manage without the route

So you're really telling me that 18 routes will be scrapped just like that within the next year. Drivers are gonna be left isolated. The disabled are gonna left uncared for with buses being absolutely packed more than ever. I'm so happy I don't live anywhere near Central London. It's gonna be hell when all this happens. Terrible day for TFL, drivers, people who are local to these routes and bus enthusiasts.

JESUS f**kING CHRIST!!!! This weren't a joke... We did say it was all true! I get the impression people think this is the final cuts. I suspect more cuts will happen especially as the funding deal still needs to be finalised.

A petition needs to be set up to save every one of these routes from being killed because this is just plain unacceptable to hear and is even worse than pedestrianising Oxford Street and reducing buses from there.
