It really is! Glad to have it in our hands! Anyway all here’s an update on 708: At the moment it’s not ready for a MOT or Tax yet due to maintenance work which we are currently working. We are unsure about when we can take it out on the road for the first time in nearly 2 years! On a positive note is that it starts and it can run albeit on private land. We don’t want to rush as that can leads to lazy maintenance which we don’t want on such a unique vehicle!

Long time no see but…
A NEW VEHICLE APPROACHES...
I am delighted to announce the acquisition of our second vehicle to the preservation fleet, in the form of YN06JXY, a former Metrobus Scania N94UB East Lancs Esteem!
Some history:
YN06JXY was new to Polhill as 622, ordered for the 181/284 contract. Months later the route and allocation, along with 622 as a result, transferred to Orpington (MB), where it remained until 2013, where it was one of the Esteems replaced by the famous YX13 Enviro200s ordered for the 284 contract renewal. 622 found a new life down at Crawley (CY) where it spent the next 7 years around the various routes in Crawley, while receiving a single door conversion, LED displays and a new livery in the process. In 2020, it was transferred briefly to Lewes Road for Rail Replacement work before being withdrawn, and purchased by private preservationists, who have given me the chance to purchase the vehicle.
I'd like to thank all the people who were involved with getting this vehicle up and running, and I look forward to getting this vehicle up and running, hopefully in time for the rally season!

Statement from one of our members:.
A DARTS BUSES FOR PRESERVATION
PogBus is proud to announce our third vehicle into the preservation fleet, S303JUA, former Arriva London Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLF!
A brief history:
S303JUA was new to Brixton (BN) as DDL3 in August 1998 for route 319, and was part of Arriva London's first batch of Plaxton bodied Darts (DDL1-18). They also became the allocation for route 118s Sunday service between April 2000 and September 2001. The DDLs moved down south to Croydon (TC) in late 2001 due to the 319 receiving higher capacity buses in the form of Wright Cadets (DWLs), then moved again to Thornton Heath (TH) in May 2003 to covert route 255 to low-floor operation. The DDLs spent most of their lives at TH, however most were withdrawn come spring 2009. DDL1-9 were repainted white and grey during the summer of 2009, and were converted to trainers, based at their old Beddington Farm (CN) depot. In September 2010, DDL1-5 transferred over to Tellings Golden Miller (a subsidiary of Arriva UK at the time) from their Harlow depot; DDL3 was repainted Lime Green for their route 4 service, and was renumbered 0403, as well as receiving a single door conversion, and flip-dot displays. DDL3 received another repaint a year later, this time into Network Harlow/Colchester's White and Blue (still under TGM). S303JUA was purchased by Panther Travel in July 2015, and then by Hams Travel in 2018, but still retained the white and blue livery until it received one last repaint during lockdown 2020. Ironically, despite the repaint, S303 hasn't been in service since 2020 as it was no longer needed. I'm glad Hams have kept DDL3 until now, and I'm grateful to them for allowing me to purchase it off them, especially considering this is the last of the DDL fleet! I'd also like to thank the PogBus crew for helping me out, and I hope to get this out on the road for you to see! Please note: the vehicle hasn't been collected yet, but has been paid for. We will let you know when it has!

This is great news! I have a particular fondness for this batch and can distinctly remember when they first appeared on the 319. IIRC, they have continous Invertec Convex lighting on both sides of the interior - a nice touch - unlike most others of that period that had single neon strip units spaced around the interior which made the interiors a bit dark.
What would be icing on the cake would be to return it to dual door but that is pretty big job.

Congratulations with the purchase! I really liked the early Pointer 2s and it was nice seeing these around South London with their red moquette bench seats!

Echo the above comments, always had a soft spot for this batch particularly DDL12 which always sounded a bit more better than the rest - also found it odd that they had a sliding window above the wheelchair area but the rest of the windows weee hoppers. Great to see this will also be at a running day in the next few weeks as has been announced elsewhere

Fantastic news indeed. While not familiar with that batch as way outside my neck of the woods, it is a major win hearing of an a pre 00s Plaxton Pointer Dart SLF being preserved. More so if re-appearing in a mere few weeks.
Was already looking forward to the 470 running day event (hopefully I attend), but the appearance of this one just makes it even greater.
