The problem with Brent Cross is the lack of stand space. That’s the issue in the SE corner of the proposals. Unless they are directly replacing the 119 and 269 there isn’t stand space in Bromley to stand another two routes let alone at Bromley North! I doubt you could shoehorn another route in at Bexleyheath either Bromley North I doubt could even take one let alone 2 despite loosing the 320. Same with west Croydon hence why the X26 still stands outside the bus station. Fairfield halls might just be able to another route if every 15 mins and possibly Bromley South aswell.

I doubt you could shoehorn another route in at Bexleyheath either Another good reason why it would be a good idea for the ‘X119/X269’ to be one route : it takes out the need for a terminal point in Bromley. If the X119/X269 replaces the 269 that removes the need for a Bexleyheath terminal so that would only leave Croydon to find a terminal point in.

And that runs into exactly the same problems I mentioned in my original post. Honestly, it would be great if Inner London could have some of the fun given it’s been left to whither to a slow death but authorities have no interest in reducing car usage and are preoccupied clogging main roads up instead. ULEZ is being expanded, rightly or wrongly, if Khan wants people out of their cars then there has to be more inner city express routes, the idea of an outer London express network would have been laughed off this forum just a year ago, and now we are discussing how this network can be expanded upon. Inner London’s traffic needs solutions as well, routes like the X68 should be running all day Mon-Fri and busy corridors like Woolwich-Lewisham/Greenwich-E&C needs a bus transit, with all the housing development going on in those areas should justify this. I’m afraid you & joefrombow don’t seem to have read what I’ve said as your both just saying the exact same thing to me. Let’s address some things: The idea of an outer London express has been mooted since the Boris days and has been mooted as returning several times so I don’t accept the notion of it being laughed off the table. Khan & TfL are only interested in Outer London hence why almost all investment since coming to power has gone to Outer London and even then, they’ve suffered some cuts as well. Until a coherent transport policy comes in coupled with actual policies to reduce car usage not called LTN’s which don’t do the job, Inner London will continue to wither with or without express routes As I mentioned previously, you need substantial infrastructure changes to successfully implement an express route - this is true even of the Superloop scheme and even more so in clogged up Inner London. The problem you have is road space is now so tight, you’ll struggle to put significant priority in to attract people from cars without tough policies following suit and the authorities are all rather weak. You can’t create a X53 for example like you would a normal route and go job done The other hurdle is what happens to the existing routes on the corridor and how do they fit around the express route. You mentioned the X68 and how it should run daily - how do you do that without overbussing the corridor and creating unnecessary consequences for the existing routes like 68, 196 & 468. The X68 wouldn’t even exist were it not for the niche of connecting Upper Norwood with Central London during peak hours and with the flow only As I’ve said, it would be great to see such a scheme for Inner London but untill these important issues are adequately solved, it won’t ever come about

I agree with this you have multiple A roads feeding from the Outer Suburbs in to Zone 2 & 1 , why not have express routes along them to encourage people to jump out cars etc ? And then the Superloop connecting them , also need these bike/escooter hire schemes extended into the suburbs and outskirts pretty ridiculous you can't get one outside zone 2 most of these boroughs are traditionally Tory, Khan has to be seen as trying to win them over. Hopefully this will have the opposite effect, and Khan gets booted out next year.

But for who - the last Tory candidate was dreadful and the next isn’t going to better as all they’d do try to appease Outer London voters. I won’t be voting Khan just like I didn’t in the previous elections but the idea the Tories will any better is laughable. My vote will again go to an independent like last time - best way to show dissatisfaction with the two main parties

To be honest, just wish he would leave outer London alone and feck up Inner London instead.

Livingstone for all his faults, we all know which ones, really did have Londoners at the forefront of his policies for his first tenure, not as much for his second. Subsequent mayors have spent far too much time and money on policies which don’t serve everyone.

The rest I agree with.

If you have others to add then feel free but maybe you shouldn’t speak for other people.

I was speaking for myself. I don't consider anything Ken Livingstone said to be a 'fault' so that's not 'we all' is it? So you’re okay with anti-semitism? Ken Livingstone was giving his opinion about biases towards interest groups based on who is making the decisions, which we have only seen more and more of especially at TfL since his departure (also including interest groups like middle-class high-income white male cyclists living in Inner London, etc). So I'm fine with the comments I've read of his, which he has a right to make.
