The 92 being converted to single decker in the 90’s. Horrible times. Also around the same time the 105 being run by London & Country from Addlestone bus garage (or somewhere nearby). Probably the worst breakdown in service I’ve experienced. The first week of operations was a nightmare. You could be waiting for an hour in Greenford before a single bus appeared.

205 being operated by Metroline... whilst running to Mile End during that time. Didn't the garage used to be Perivale (PV) as well?

There's a bit in 'Privatising London's Buses' where someone from the Tendered Bus Division visited the yard Boroline were using in North Greenwich for the 188 when it was initially taken over. They were horrified by its condition and unsuitability. I've never quite nailed down exactly where that base was.
I never visited it, but have seen it in one or two places listed as Ordnance Wharf. This had been part of the huge gas works (and associated trades) site, and is shown on 1950-ish OS map here - just on the west side of the Dome / O2 thing.

Yes, there was a time when so many routes in west London went single-deck that there were few fully double-deck routes other than routes 18,83 and 207. Thank you for others that all of you have posted here. Both stints of route 25 with First, later Tower Transit, feel like aberrations. It feels too big and important a route to be lost by former LBL subsidiary East London, now of course Stagecoach (but Macquarie 2006-10). In fact, to a lesser extent its whole time away from BW feels a bit of a long-term aberration!

The 332 replaced the 316 between Brent Park and Cricklewood in 2007. The 316 was the route that replaced the the 16 between Brent Park and Cricklewood in 1997. Oh my bad - i got confused with the 316 - has been edited now. Oh so you've edited in the quote and not the original post.

In the late 1980s there was a short period of a few years when the original 79 route from Burnt Oak to Alperton was withdrawn (and I think the 79A Edgware variant renumbered 79 shortly thereafter) and replaced by a surely madcap extension to the 226 which then ran Golders Green - Cricklewood - Willesden - Park Rpyal - Alperton - Wembley - Kingsbury - Burnt Oak. Needless to say it was very unreliable and the original 79 (sort of, largely) came back as the 204 a few years later.

That's a considerably large timespan as well... I thought the 335 arrangement is bad. Arriva owned Tellings Golden Miller (TGM). TGM bid for the E10 from their Heathrow base, but ran under Arriva branding and interiors. They carried legals based in Hounslow TW6 IIRC. Unfortunately the first ever Euro6 E200 they bought was riddled with problems, gearbox problems meant Dartford, the nearest garage from Hounslow had to cover with elderly Cadets using A4 sheets for blinds for a while. It all was brought under Arriva London North at Dartford. The garage was too far away for Arriva to manage well, and eventually they surrendered the route to RATP in 2017. I believe YX14RYR and her sisters are on the S3 now out of Tolworth after TUK / Abellio gained the E10. I think they are coded SDE***** now. That concludes our Bus Trivia for the evening

I believe they are contractually allocated to the K5, but are probably soon to depart due to the recent loss of the S3 to Abellio (displacing 64 and 17 reg for the K5).

I read that it was managed by them and IBUS etc was controlled from there but assumed the buses parked at Stanwell (HE).
