Do you think any bus stops needs to be renamed to more suit the local area?
I would: Stratford Broadway (69, 104, 238, 241, 262, 473) to Stratford Centre Angel Lane (158, 241, 308) to Theatre Royal Stratford The Grove and Stratford Library (69, 158, 241, 257, 308, N8) to Stratford Morrison's Plaistow / Prince Regent Lane and Khartoum Road (5, 115, 147, 262, 276, 300, 330, 473, N15) to Greengate Street Paul Street and Barnby Street (69, 104, 238, 241, 262, 276, 473) to Stratford Park, and therefore, Stratford Park (104, 238) to Densham Road Hoe Street (212) to Walthamstow Market Burgess Road and Cann Hall Road (58, 69, 257, 339, N8) to Leytonstone / Thatched House Lea Bridge Road / Bakers Arms and Leyton Green (20, 55, 69, 97, 230, 257, 357, W15, W16, W19, N26) to Leyton Tesco / Bakers Arms Bromley Road (123, N73) to Hoe Street / Bell Corner Litchfield Avenue (25, 86, 308, N86) to Lichfield Avenue / Stratford Morrison's Stephen's Court (69) to Hermit Road Recreation Ground Ladysmith Road (69) to East London Cemetery St Helen's School (W12, W16) to Shern Hall Methodist Church High Street North (25, 86, W19, N86) to Manor Park / High Street North Hermit Road (5, 69, 115, 241, 276, 300, 330, 474, N15) to Canning Town / Hermit Road Leyton High Road / Leyton Station (W14, W15) to High Road Leyton for Leyton Stn Hall Lane (97, 158, 215, 357, 385, 397, 657, N26) to Chingford Mount / Hall Lane Aintree Avenue (5, 58, 115, 147, N15) to Katherine Road Arragon Road (5, 58, 115, 147, N15) to Richardens Road Bazely Street for All Saints Station (15, 115, D6, N15, N550, N551) to All Saints Station Poplar Recreation Ground / Poplar Station (15, 115, D6, N15, N551) to Poplar Recreation Ground North Middlesex Hospital (34, 102, 144, W6) to Tanners End Lane
Please note, for Arragon Road, the computer is taking the rename the wrong way and being a bit dirty, so its not supposed to be Richardens. Think of the ancient author: Charles Dickens, The rename is to match the bus stop in the opposite direction.
I have more that I'll reveal soon, but do you guys have any bus stops that you think should be renamed?

I have more that I'll reveal soon, but do you guys have any bus stops that you think should be renamed? I agree with the changes in green The Grove and Stratford Library (69, 158, 241, 257, 308, N8) to Stratford Morrison's - I think the Library should be retained. whilst Morrisons may be more popular, it never hurts to know where a library is. Lea Bridge Road / Bakers Arms and Leyton Green (20, 55, 69, 97, 230, 257, 357, W15, W16, W19, N26) to Leyton Tesco / Bakers Arms - I'd imagine the bus stop towards Whipps Cross with this name will change should once the mini Holland program goes ahead on Lea Bridge Road, I'd expect it to become Poplars Road named after the road it stand I front of. The stop to Walthamstow is fine as is, I don't think every supermarket that a bus serves needs to be called unless it is the sole landmark I.e. Sailsbury Hall / Sainsbury's. Burgess Road and Cann Hall Road (58, 69, 257, 339, N8) to Leytonstone / Thatched House - Whilst the area is still known locally as Thatched House the public house no longer exists. Personally, I would ditch Burgess Road and westbound change it to Crownfield Road eastbound Crownfield Road / Leytonstone High Road Litchfield Avenue (25, 86, 308, N86) to Lichfield Avenue / Stratford Morrison's - I think it's a bit OTT this change St Helen's School (W12, W16) to Shern Hall Methodist Church - I think the Oliver Road stop (towards Leyton and Wanstead) is better suited to this name than that stop. Hoe Street (212) to Walthamstow Market - I think Walthamstow Sorting Office would be better as this is directly opposite both stops. The actual location of the market is quite a distance from these two stops. Bazely Street for All Saints Station (15, 115, D6, N15, N550, N551) to All Saints Station - Bazely Street well known locally I'd leave this one.
One stop I've always thought needs its name changed is (Northbound) Harvey Road (257, W14 & N8) to Harvey Road for Leytonstone Station. (Northbound) South Grove (58, 230, W19) to South Grove for Walthamstow Queen's Road Stn. (Wouldn't surprise me if this is done whilst the block closure of the GOBLIN is in place) St John's Road (123, 212, 275) to Wood Street

Both Belvedere Place stops should be changed to either Baytree Road, Brixton Tesco or Acre Lane Tesco simply because Belvedere Place is a small private road near the bus stop that few people know about whereas the massive Tesco that been sitting across the road since the 80's is of course well known.
Rush Common (there's only a southbound stop) should be changed to Baytree Road because the bus stop near enough overlooks the road and Rush Common has three different sections along Brixton Hill which could cause confusion.

Blackheath,Royal Standard to Charlton, Westcombe Hill. I think I messed up I actually think Blackheath / Royal Standard is actually quite good. With route 202 terminating there with the terminus called Royal Standard, I would say it majorly known and shouldn't be changed.

(Wouldn't surprise me if this is done whilst the block closure of the GOBLIN is in place) St John's Road (123, 212, 275) to Wood Street Ty for comments, Maybe keeping Stratford Library might encourage people to read. For the Bakers Arms, I wasn't really planning on changing the stop towards Whipps Cross, but will probably be need to renamed as it will be quite a way from the Bakers Arms. For the Thatched House, I still think it should be changed to Thatched House. For Burgess Road westbound, Crownfield Road is a bit of an unsuitable name as the next bus stop is also on the road. With St Helens School, the other bus stop could also be changed, but this one is probably the most important change out of all these. The school is not even called St Helens anymore, and was changed about 8 years ago. I want Hoe Street to be called Walthamstow Market because I want this stop to be known as the stop to get off when coming into town. And if Bazely Street is known the area, call the stop Bazely Street / All Saints Station. The station should be included in the name, as it would personally help me know where to get off in this area. Your St John's Road rename I definitely agree with, Wood Street would help people know where to get off better.

Ashford Common, Black Dog to Ashford Common, Bridge Gardens. Black Dog pub turned into a Tesco Express a few years back, plus buses still curtail at Ashford Common (290) and use Bridge Gardens to head back to depot. There used to be a marked out bus stand down there but I believe it's gone now.

Following on from this, Could we record stops that have changed name recently and ones that come up in future?

Well to kick off with, Leywick Street on route 276 near West Ham Station has been changed to Corporation Street. They don't really change names as often as they used to though.

The bus stop on Staines Road West is Chertsey Road, but the bus stop down Littleton Road is still called Black Dog. I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow. Good idea though, about the name changes. I thought that they were phasing out pub names as bus stops but I see Three Fishes still exists as a bus stop in Lower Sunbury.

They have phased out a large number of pub names as bus stops or even bus destinations but I suspect it's done usually when a pub sadly disappears - Leyton, Bakers Arms & Tulse Hill Tavern still survive as bus stop names/destinations as does Three Fishes as you mentioned.

This got me thinking, there are/were terminal points that were/are pubs, but never shown on the blinds, BUT were detailed on the fare charts. 88-Acton Green, on the fare chart it was Acton Green Duke of Sussex, 22-Putney Common Spencer Arms, Homerton Clapton Park Tavern 12 Harlsden Willesden Junction Hotel. I wonder what the criteria was? E.G. at the southern end of the 88, you had 'Mitcham the cricketers' and St Helier The Rose. No doubt memb ers can add a few more.
