Thought I'd start a thread to post the comings and goings of this little operation.
Replacement Bus Hire does what it says on the tin - supplies vehicles for rail replacement services and also loans out vehicles on a temporary basis.

Some updates on movements and the non-glamourous behind the scenes stuff. TA400 / Y514 NHK is on hire to Replacement Bus Hire and will be out on Clapham Junction to Surbiton tomorrow. TA23 is at the works for an inspection, MOT prep and a test in the next few days. VLA176 has had a new turbocharger and work done on its exhaust manifold to make it as good as new

Also, do you have any idea of what departures it will operate? Thanks

Some updates!
TA23 - after a number of minor repairs and one hydraulic oil cooler later, has a fresh MOT with no advisories. It will soon be off for upgrade to comply with PSVAR then will undergo a number of cosmetic mods.
VLA170 - has been recommissioned. All its tickets have been reinstated and will be an active spare after its next maintenance inspection.
VLA176 - back on the road imminently and should next be in service this Sunday.
A single deck vehicle will be joining the fleet in the not too distant future.

Going from strength to strength...love to see it! Thanks! There are challenges associated with keeping old buses running. While at the workshop for a steam clean and attention to the exhaust manifold, it was discovered 176 had a seized height sensor and a door controller that needed attention which have been dealt with. Also took the opportunity to have the saloon heating activated - I reinstated the lower deck blower myself - it had been disabled and the switch in the driver’s cab removed. No coolant was reaching the upper deck radiator - temperature sensor switch on the blink which prevented the circuit that controls the damp frost valve from operating. That has now been repaired so it should be nice and warm for service. The cruise control has been activated and quite like using it as the bus half drives itself - and in eco mode too which saves the fuel bill. I paired it and tested with a 5 button gear selector which was an interesting experience. However the 3 button selector has been reinstated. All being well I’ll be on it from 2pm until the end of the day on Sunday.
