www.surreycc.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/368749/Zero-Emission-Bus-Regional-Areas-2-Bid-For-Publishing.pdfSurrey County Council are teaming up with Falcon Buses and Whitebus to bid for 19 new electric buses - 13 for Falcon Buses routes 436 and 461, 6 for Whitebus route 446. The preferred vehicle choice for Falcon is Yutong E10s, doesn't mention what it is for Whitebus. There is the possibility for 16 extra ZEBs for Whitebus too assuming this bid is successful. An interesting snippet is that the 461 is planned to be increased to every 20 minutes with the 436 also increased in operation. 436 could do with a Sunday service really - not certain why it lacks one now.

Falcon and White bus are both excellent operators and we are lucky to have them.

Falcon and White bus are both excellent operators and we are lucky to have them. Agree - I'm interested to see what EVs Whitebus would specify. The ZEBRA bid document only includes the main operator (Falcon) and their vehicle preferences, the smaller Whitebus one being in a unavailable smaller document. Despite the public funding in these it's nonetheless a big commitment and investment from these small operators to run 19 electric buses that have to run in Surrey for a minimum for 10 years. But it's good that these routes can now justify that commercial investment too.

Interestingly, given the extent to which most ZEBRA2 bid documents have been heavily redacted this one actually includes indicative unit costs for both buses and charging units!

I have copied-and-pasted the details to my original post at the top of the thread. It will be interesting to see which bids are successful and if bids are awarded in total or only in part.

"Forthcoming Monday to Saturday service enhancements on the Falcon network, using Surrey County Council’s recent £3.9 million funding award, are set to include the 456 (Woking to Staines) doubled to half-hourly between Woking and West Byfleet only to offer a quarter hourly Woking - Sheerwater - West Byfleet frequency alongside the 436, the daytime 461 (St Peters Hospital to Kingston) increased from half-hourly to every 20 mins, the 436 (Woking to Weybridge) gain an evening and new Sunday service, the 479 (Guildford to Epsom) increased evening and enhanced hourly Sunday service. The funding is for two years, with these enhancements needing to become commercially viable in order to continue. The existing 456 ‘short’ Sunday service between Woking and Addlestone, operated by White Bus, is set for retendering next September (2025)."
