New 2018 Thameslink routes TL1 Bedford to Brighton via London Bridge TL2 Bedford to Gatwick via London Bridge TL3 Bedford to East Grinstead via London Bridge - Peak hours only TL4 Bedford to Littlehampton via London Bridge - Peak hours only TL5 Peterborough to Horsham via London Bridge TL6 Cambridge to Brighton via London Bridge (semi fast) TL7 Cambridge to Maidstone East - Mon-Sat (stopping north of route) TL8 Blackfriars to Sevenoaks via Elephant - Runs to from Welwyn during peak hours TL9 Kentish Town to Orpington via Elephant - Runs to/from Luton during peak hours TL10 Luton to Rainham via London Bridge TL11 St Albans to Sutton via Mitcham TL12 St Albans to Sutton via Wimbledon What happened to Welwyn Garden City to Caterham and Cambridge to Tattenham Corner? It was mentioned these services were going to operate when Govia won the franchise.

Don't exactly know the reason but these will continue to terminate at London Bridge but all splitting at Purley but additionally there will be London Bridge to Caterham via Tulse Hill but yeah subject to dft approval but most likely to go ahead

Is there any more detail about frequencies or stopping patterns or what has actually caused the change? The move to have two regular services on South Eastern metals is quite a shock / surprise given the Maidstone route was peak jnys only and the running through onto South Eastern tracks towards Dartford was ruled out years ago having been in previous plans.

I suspect one or two of those Bedford trains are designed to be extended to Corby once MML electrification allows it, as won't want to be changing core timetable for few years. The Bedford-Kettering-Corby section is electrified from 2019, the mainline north of Kettering from 2023

Yeah the services on the southeastern lines was a surprise, think it was mentioned to either go via Greenwich and Woolwich or via Lewisham, Hithet Green and Sidcup

Yeah the services on the southeastern lines was a surprise, think it was mentioned to either go via Greenwich and Woolwich or via Lewisham, Hithet Green and Sidcup Yes, sadly running on the Woolwich/Greenwich line and not the Bexleyheath Line. Should be replacing semi-fast Charing Cross to Gillingham services. Tattenham Corner/Caterham Thameslink services will now not happen.

Hopefully this means that once the Luton to Rainham service starts one of the current services most probably the Dartford via Greenwich service could run via Sidcup instead to bring it to 6tph.
My opinion is that the Greenwich line should be left how it is and run the new Rainham service via Lewisham and Sidcup.

I understand, via the London Reconnections blog, that the new Thameslink service structure will be subject to consultation from July this year. I also suspect that South Eastern may also be part of that process as the procurement process for the new franchise starts later this year and DfT usually do a consultation before finalising the ITT and starting the process. There is, of course, the added complication of potential TfL involvement in the inner suburban service structure so it will be very interesting to see how things fall out. By the looks of things DfT has already been moving pieces round the franchise chess board to reshape things. The main issue with the proposed TL10 service is it will require an "odd" move between Thameslink's route through London Bridge and the Greenwich Line. It's rather late in the day to be deciding to run services like this when you've spent nigh on a billion quid to split and separate the London Bridge services into 4 groups - Cannon St Greenwich line, Thameslink, CX Sidcup / Bexleyheath lines, South Central locals. The new track layouts can apparently cope with the proposed TL10 but it rather goes against the spirit of all of the infrastructure work which was to raise capacity (where possible) and remove conflicting moves. This TL10 does the opposite plus it creates a South Eastern service on the Thameslink tracks or a Thameslink service on the South Eastern tracks (can't remember which way round it is). It is also suggested that some Southern stoppers will end up using the Blackfriars bay platforms (working off the Wimbledon loop).

Strong talk of a 700 entering passenger service over the course of the day, I've been sent a diagram, unit 700108 is supposed to run the inaugural service. Please take with a pinch of salt as things do change but the depot run has been listed and activated from three bridges up depot to Brighton.
1B18 10:02 Brighton to London Bridge 1B21 11:12 London Bridge to Brighton 1B28 12:32 Brighton to London Bridge 1B31 13:42 London Bridge to Brighton
700102 was a graffiti victim over the course of the weekend, it was attacked whilst outstabled in Ferme Park CS. It returned back to three bridges as 5X17 yesterday morning.
EDIT: 5Z18 is passing Preston Park as we speak, 1B18 will run.

Curtailed to East Croydon on its second n/b trip as it was so late. and was eventually only 11 mins back into Brighton having regained its s/b path. Clearly fully trained in the "utterly useless" vibe so associated with Thameslink.

Maybe it is just me but has there been a recent increase in train vandalism to train exteriors? In the past week I've seen a 465, 319 & D Stock all vandalised. Maybe I've been very oblivious to it prior but it just seems to of been more prevalent at present.

You could be right but personally I wouldn't have left my new train in Ferme Park even if it was (supposedly) being guarded by two security guards, Its not the most secure location to store trains.

When many units are stopped for engineering works or reduced services is not unfamiliar for units when normal services resume for units to be withdrawn from service dependent on how severe the graffiti damage is, our 313's often get touched when outstabled at Welwyn. To be honest, OFSKE LWI has been propping up and awful lot, i must admit being a railwayman some of the damage looks quite cool, despite the excessive cost to remove it. In relation to the Ferme Park CS outstabling, the 700's also outstable at Cricklewood and have been touched there too, VTEC, FHT and GC all oustable at Ferme Park and avoid attacks, there is a novelty of being the first to tag a new train, as seen on newly introduced S stocks.

Power supply issues affected the Thameslink service and BML, which caused congestion and short notice alterations to various services.
